The Cisco QSFP BiDi transceiver has two 20-Gbps channels, each transmitted and received simultaneously over two wavelengths on a single MMF strand. The result is an aggregated duplex 40-Gbps link over a MMF duplex LC-terminated fiber cable. The connection can reach 100 meters on OM3 MMF or 150 meters on OM4 MMF, which is the same as 40-Gbps SR4. Figure 3 shows the technology concept of the Cisco QSFP BiDi transceiver.
The Cisco Catalyst® 4500E Supervisor Engine 8-E (Figure 1) is the next generation of enterprise-class switching engine that provides full convergence between wired and wireless networks on a single platform. This new Cisco® Unified Access Data Plane (UADP) application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) powers the wireless convergence and helps enable uniform wired-wireless policy enforcement, application visibility, flexibility, and application optimization. The new Cisco Catalyst 4500E Supervisor Engine 8-E is an enterprise-class, access and aggregation supervisor engine designed to provide up to 928 Gbps of wired access per system with an E-Series chassis. The supervisor also supports up to 20 Gbps of wireless termination in a controller-less unified access deployment. Cisco Catalyst 4500E Supervisor Engine 8-E provides 48 Gbps per slot with Flexible NetFlow (FNF), integrated Wireshark, and advanced security, combined with reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and excellent investment protection. These capabilities, along with eight 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks and 10/100/1000 Power over Ethernet (PoE), PoE Plus (PoEP), and Cisco Universal PoE (UPoE) ports, make this supervisor engine the leading Cisco Unified Access supervisor engine in the Cisco Catalyst Family. Supervisor Engine 8-E is built with price-performance aggregation deployments in mind, helping to enable denser Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet fiber deployments with enterprise-class aggregation functions. Supervisor Engine 8-E facilitates user experiences for enterprise, public sector, mid-market, and commercial customer business-critical applications.Cisco leadership in Borderless Networks is extended with important features - hardware readiness for Unified Access, Cisco TrustSec®, medianet, Flexible NetFlow, Cisco EnergyWiseâ¢, Cisco Powered Workspace, and many other feature enhancements offered by the Cisco Catalyst 4500E Supervisor Engine 8-E. Backward and forward compatibility with most existing Cisco Catalyst 4500 and 4500E line cards, and power supplies helps assure deeper customer satisfaction with an industry-leading investment protection architecture. Cisco Catalyst Supervisor Engine 8-E is supported in Cisco Catalyst 4500 E-Series chassis only.

The Cisco 16-Gbps Fibre Channel SFP+ Transceivers provide Fibre Channel connectivity for 4/8/16-Gbps ports on the MDS 9000 Family platform. Three types are available: the Cisco Fibre Channel Shortwave SFP+ (part number DS-SFP-FC16G-SW), the Cisco Fibre Channel Longwave SFP+ (part number DS-SFP-FC16G-LW), and the Cisco Fibre Channel Extended Longwave SFP+ (part number DS-SFP-FC16GELW). Each offers 4/8/16-Gbps autosensing Fibre Channel connectivity.
The Cisco® Catalyst® 9300 Series Switches are Ciscoâs lead stackable enterprise switching platform built for security, IoT, mobility, and cloud. They are the next generation of the industryâs most widely deployed switching platform. The Catalyst 9300 Series switches form the foundational building block for Software-Defined Access(SD-Access), Ciscoâs lead enterprise architecture. At 480 Gbps, they are the industryâs highest-density stacking bandwidth solution with the most flexible uplink architecture. The Catalyst 9300 Series is the first optimized platform for high-density 802.11ac Wave2. It sets new maximums for network scale. These switches are also ready for the future, with an x86 CPU architecture and more memory, enabling them to host containers and run third-party applications and scripts natively within the switch. The Catalyst 9300 Series is designed for Cisco StackWise® technology, providing flexible deployment with support for nonstop forwarding with Stateful Switchover (NSF/SSO), for the most resilient architecture in a stackable (sub-50-ms) solution. The highly resilient and efficient power architecture features Cisco StackPower®, which delivers high-density Cisco Universal Power Over Ethernet (Cisco UPOE®) and Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) ports. The switches are based on the Cisco Unified Access⢠Data Plane 2.0 (UADP) 2.0 architecture which not only protects your investment but also allows a larger scale and higher throughput. A modern operating system, Cisco IOS XE with programmability offers advanced security capabilities and Internet of Things (IoT) convergence. The foundation of Software-Defined AccessAdvanced persistent security threats. The exponential growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Mobility everywhere. Cloud adoption. All of these require a network fabric that integrates advanced hardware and software innovations to automate, secure, and simplify customer networks. The goal of this network fabric is to enable customer revenue growth by accelerating the rollout of business services. The Cisco Digital Network Architecture (Cisco DNAâ¢) with SD-Access is the network fabric that powers business.
