MERAKI INSIGHTOptimize User Experience,Accelerate ITMeraki Insight helps IT administrators optimize the end user experience, significantly reducing the time it takes to isolate network or application problems that lie beyond the LAN, and create happy, productive users.Introducing Meraki InsightReliable, fast networks have become ubiquitous, driving innovation, productivity and instant collaboration, supported by the relentless growth of convenient cloud hosted applications. As the use of these apps and services grows, so too does our reliance on every step of the journey, from app server to desktop or mobile device.Even with a powerful, proven network infrastructure like Cisco Meraki, the end-user experience can only be truly optimized by considering all internal and external factors contributing to the end-user experience. Fast cloud application response times rely not only on a well designed, high performance LAN, but also on the performance of the service providerâs infrastructure, the WAN or Internet, and the remote SaaS (software as a service) application itself.Meraki Insight has been developed to provide end-to-end visibility into how end-users are experiencing the network by taking a more holistic view of the factors contributing to the end-userâs perception. Busy IT teams benefit from improved insight and a drastic reduction in troubleshooting effort, enabling resources to focus on the true cause of end-user frustration and provide faster, better service. Faster problem resolution gives IT more time to support their organizationâs mission priorities.Meet the first collector for Meraki InsightMeraki Insight requires a collector to gather the data it uses, and the Meraki MX platform can be easily upgraded to function as a collector with the addition of a new Meraki Insight license. As data flows through LAN and WAN interfaces, deep packet inspection provides valuable information at both the Network layer and Application layer, helping IT determine the true root cause with simple visibility into performance at every step. Each application gets its own Performance Score, providing a quick reference to the quality of the user experience relative to a specific Web Application, based on the thresholds defined by a IT administrator. This Performance Score is calculated based on several definable thresholds, primarily per-flow goodput (true payload data rate) and application response time. The Meraki dashboard provides rich at-a-glance visibility into how the performance of a specific application is trending over time, enabling IT to more accurately predict where and when challenges are likely to begin impacting the end-user experience.
Cisco is the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate, and collaborate. Their technology is changing the nature of work and the way we live. Founded in 1984, Cisco pioneered the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking technologies. This tradition continues with the development of routing, switching, and other technologies such as application networking services, home networking, security, storage area networking, TelePresence systems, unified communications, video systems, and wireless.
With an integrated mobile-grade processor on each MV device*, Meraki smart cameras have revolutionized the security camera and video analytics world. Servers and complex software are no longer requirements to benefit from the wealth of analytics insights that can be gleaned through computer vision and machine learning technologies. Processing video data on the camera, and not in the cloud, also reduces the time required to produce these insights.MV Sense is the perfect companion to the Meraki smart camera line*, allowing users to further utilize the MV machine-learning based computer vision outputs via API to create custom business solutions. From an individual camera all the way up to a global fleet, MV Sense supplies organizations and developers with processed, high-value data and insights with no additional infrastructure requirements. The MV Sense API allows developers to access three types of rich data insights (Figure 1):- Historical aggregate: How many people were in a given area at a specified time, and where exactly were they in the frame?- Current snapshot: How many people are in a given area right now, and where exactly are they in the frame?- Real-time feed: A stream of the number of people and their exact location in a frame, pushed out in sub-second intervals.- Additionally, the ability to define zones as specific areas of interest coupled with these three types of endpoints gives users selective granularity and customizability: two shopping queues in a single camera frame can be defined and analyzed as such with MV Sense.- From streamlining an operation, to creating a richer customer experience, to making a safe school even safer, and everything in between, MV Sense allows users to utilize their security camera deployment for more than just security. Meraki smart cameras coupled with MV Sense unleash the power of cameras as sensors.
Cisco Meraki MX Security & SD-WAN Appliances are ideal for organizations considering a Unified Threat Managment (UTM) solution, for distributed sites, campuses or datacenter VPN concentration. Since the MX is 100% cloud managed, installation and remote management are simple. The MX has a comprehensive suite of network services, eliminating the need for multiple appliances. These services include SD-WAN capabilities, application-based firewalling, content filtering, web search filtering, SNORT® based intrusion detection and prevention, Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP), web caching, 4G cellular failover and more. Auto VPN and SD-WAN features are available on our hardware and virtual appliances, configurable in Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.Ironclad SecurityThe MX platform has an extensive suite of security features including IDS/IPS, content filtering, web search filtering, antimalware, geo-IP based firewalling, IPsec VPN connectivity and Cisco Advanced Malware Protection, while providing the performance required for modern, bandwidth-intensive networks. Layer 7 fingerprinting technology lets administrators identify unwanted content and applications and prevent recreational apps like BitTorrent from wasting precious bandwidth. The integrated Cisco SNORT® engine delivers superior intrusion prevention coverage, a key requirement for PCI 3.2 compliance. The MX also uses the Webroot BrightCloud® URL categorization database for CIPA / IWF compliant content-filtering, Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) engine for anti-malware, AMP Threat Grid Cloud, and MaxMind for geo-IP based security rules.Best of all, these industry-leading Layer 7 security engines and signatures are always kept up-to-date via the cloud, simplifying network security management and providing peace of mind to IT administrators.
